About the Project
The International Center for Research on the Phenomenon of Solidarity and the Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kraków invite you to participate in the Solidarity Summer School: Globalisation of the Polish experience of “Solidarność” – an international academic program primarily offered to both Polish and foreign students.
The Summer School will take place online from June 30 to July 4, 2025. Over the course of five days, participants will explore the historical context of the emergence of solidarity in Poland and its institutional form: the NSZZ “Solidarność” trade union. They will examine how the idea of solidarity developed in Polish philosophical thought and society, and gain insight into the significance of solidarity for European identity.
Together, participants will also seek answers to questions such as:
Classes will be conducted in the form of lectures and workshops by a team of internationally recognized professors and experts. Topics discussed during the Summer School will include:
Applying the Polish experience of solidarity to global problems.
Participation in the Summer School is subject to a fee. The cost is 2,000 PLN.

The first and second edition of the Summer School - Solidarity Summer School: Globalisation of Polish experience of "Solidarność" was co-financed by the European Social Fund under the Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development, non-competitive project entitled "Support for the institutional capacity of Polish universities by creating and implementing international study programmes" (Measure: 3.3 Internationalisation of Polish higher education), specified in the application for funding for the project no. POWR.03.03.00-00-PN16/18.
